Physician practices

Cardiologist email list

The CMS NPPES register (file of 2026-09-14) lists ~24,000 registered practice addresses where at least one provider carries a cardiology code: cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology, clinical cardiac electrophysiology, advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology, adult congenital heart disease or pediatric cardiology. That is 4.9% of the ~483,000 physician addresses in the same file. The count is an upper bound, because the register keeps closed and duplicate addresses and many cardiologists are registered at several hospital and clinic sites. The cardiologist list holds one row per cardiology office we can confirm, with the email it publishes and the page where we found it. You can order it now, nationwide or by state.

What's in the list

The same columns as the physician list. The specialty column will name the cardiology codes registered at each address, so you can keep electrophysiology or interventional sites and drop the rest.

Who is included

An office is in this list when a provider registered at its address carries one of six NUCC taxonomy codes, in any of the 15 taxonomy slots of an NPPES record:

Critical care medicine (207RC0200X) is left out. Cardiothoracic and vascular surgeons, cardiac nurse practitioners and physician assistants are left out unless a cardiologist is registered at the same address. Pediatric cardiology is in this list and in the pediatrician email list, so the two counts overlap and should not be added together. Every other specialty is in the physician email list.

Physician email list

How many cardiologists are in the US?

The AAMC counted 22,262 active physicians whose specialty is cardiovascular disease in 2021 (2022 Physician Specialty Data Report). The AAMC lists clinical cardiac electrophysiology as its own specialty, with 2,632 active physicians, and interventional cardiology separately again, so the 22,262 is general cardiology only. The Bureau of Labor Statistics counted 17,290 cardiologist jobs in May 2025 (OEWS, SOC 29-1212). That figure is lower because OEWS counts wage-and-salary jobs only, which leaves out self-employed cardiologists, and the two figures are four years apart.

The NPPES register holds ~43,000 individual NPIs whose primary taxonomy is one of the six cardiology codes, and ~44,000 with a cardiology code in any slot. Both are upper bounds, because physicians keep their NPI after they retire.

Cardiology addresses by state

California, Florida, New York and Texas hold the most registered cardiology addresses, about 38% of the US total between them. Florida has about 60% of California's population and 96% of its cardiology addresses. Alaska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Vermont hold the fewest.

Where cardiology addresses cluster

Cardiology addresses are densest along the East Coast. The national rate is about 7.0 per 100,000 residents. The District of Columbia has 13.8, New York 11.4 and Maryland 11.2, with New Jersey (10.7) and Florida (10.2) next. West Virginia ranks seventh among the states and DC, at 9.5 per 100,000, ahead of Connecticut (8.6). Minnesota has the lowest rate (2.6), then Alaska (2.7) and Iowa (3.3).

Delaware9.8~100
West Virginia9.5~170
Connecticut8.6~320
Louisiana8.1~370
Arizona8.0~610

Counts are rounded.

Cardiology's share of all physician addresses tells a related story. Nationally it is 4.9%. New York (6.2%), Rhode Island (6.1%), and West Virginia and New Jersey (6.0%) have the highest shares, and Alaska the lowest (1.7%). In Minnesota cardiology is 3.4% of physician addresses, below the national share as well as below it per resident. Shares are computed from the cardiology and physician register counts for each state, from the CMS file of 2026-09-14.

Where the data comes from

The list starts from the CMS National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES), the federal register of healthcare providers, file of 2026-09-14. We group MD and DO registrations by practice address, match each location to its own website or its group's location page, and record the emails and phone numbers published there, with the page URL. We check each email with the receiving mail server and leave out locations we can't confirm as current.

Questions about the cardiologist list

Can I buy the cardiologist list now?

Yes. Choose nationwide or up to 10 states in the order panel on this page. It costs $249 nationwide, and the panel shows the price of each state file. Delivered within 24 hours, usually much sooner. That includes the nationwide file.

Does the list include hospital-employed cardiologists?

Rows will be locations, not people. A cardiologist employed by a hospital or health system will appear through the clinic or heart center where they see patients, under that site's name, phone and published email. The list will have no column of cardiologists' names.

Would the list suit cardiac device and diagnostics sales?

It may. A rep selling monitors, imaging or remote-monitoring services needs the sites where cardiologists work, and the specialty column will show which ones register interventional or electrophysiology codes.

Are pediatric cardiologists included?

Yes, under code 2080P0202X. They are also in the pediatrician list, so a buyer of both lists will see some addresses twice.

How are cardiologist files delivered and refunded?

The same as every list. Delivered within 24 hours, usually much sooner. Card held at checkout, charged on delivery. The 5% bounce refund applies too. See pricing.
