FSBPT, BLS and register counts of US physical therapists and their practices, by state and specialty.
Physical therapist email list
The Bureau of Labor Statistics counts 55,010 private offices of physical, occupational and speech therapists and audiologists (QCEW, fourth quarter of 2025, NAICS 621340), a group wider than physical therapy alone. The CMS NPPES register (file of 2026-09-14) lists ~164,000 registered practice addresses of physical therapists and physical therapy clinics, including stale and duplicate ones, so it is an upper bound. ~79,000 of those addresses have a record updated or added in the last 5 years. The count also takes in hospital, nursing home and home health addresses, not only outpatient clinics. Each row of the list is one practice location, with the email it publishes, the page where we found it and the date we last verified it. You can order it now, nationwide or by state.

By specialty
Most physical therapists register under the general code and name no specialty. Orthopedic and pediatric are the largest named specialties. The counts below are individual therapists by the specialty they flagged as primary, not practices, and a specialty code is the therapist's own choice, not a board certification.

| Physical therapist, no specialty given | ~267,000 |
| Orthopedic Physical Therapist | ~11,000 |
| Pediatric Physical Therapist | ~6,800 |

Where the data comes from
The list starts from the CMS National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES), the federal register of healthcare providers, file of 2026-09-14. We group physical therapist and clinic registrations by address, match each location to its own website or its group's clinic page, and record the emails and phone numbers published there, with the page URL. For each order we check each email with the receiving mail server and leave out locations we can't confirm as current.

Questions about the physical therapist list
Can I buy the physical therapist list now?
Yes. Choose nationwide or up to 10 states in the order panel on this page. It costs $249 nationwide, and state files start from $39. Delivered within 24 hours, usually much sooner. Nationwide files are verified and sent within 48 hours.
How many physical therapists are in the US?
The Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT) counted 312,199 physical therapists with at least one active license at the end of 2024, a count that includes some who have retired but kept their license. The Bureau of Labor Statistics puts physical therapist jobs at about 283,700 in 2025. The physical therapist statistics page compares these counts and gives the register figures by state.
Does the list cover outpatient clinics or hospital therapy departments?
Mostly outpatient practices, we expect. BLS says 36% of physical therapist jobs are in offices of therapists and 26% in hospitals, with home health and nursing facilities next. A hospital's therapy department usually has no email or website of its own, so it reaches the list only where the hospital publishes a contact for that department. Private and group outpatient clinics publish their own contacts, and we expect them to make up most rows.
Is this a list of individual physical therapists?
No. Rows will be practice locations, not people. The therapists_at_location column will give the number of therapists registered at the address without naming them. We will collect only emails a practice publishes on its own website, and we never guess addresses from a name pattern.
Is this a directory for finding a physical therapist near me?
No. It will be a business file for companies that sell to physical therapy practices, such as equipment suppliers, billing services and software vendors. To find a therapist near you, use your health plan's provider search or ask your doctor for a referral.
Can I send email to physical therapy practices legally?
In the US, CAN-SPAM allows commercial email to businesses if you identify yourself, include a postal address and an opt-out, and honor opt-outs. This is general information, not legal advice. Read is buying an email list legal?
