Physician practices

Physician email list

The Bureau of Labor Statistics counts 246,639 private offices of physicians with employees (QCEW, fourth quarter of 2025, NAICS 6211). The CMS NPPES register (file of 2026-09-14) lists ~483,000 registered practice addresses of MD and DO physicians (taxonomy codes starting 207 or 208), including stale and duplicate ones, so it is an upper bound. ~259,000 of those addresses have a record updated or added in the last 5 years. Many are hospital, clinic or group sites rather than one-doctor offices. Each row of the list is one practice location, with the email it publishes, the page where we found it and the date we last verified it. You can order it now, nationwide or by state.

Registered physician addresses by state

California has the most registered physician addresses, followed by Florida, Texas and New York. Per resident, the District of Columbia, Maryland and Florida rank highest. Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota and Wisconsin rank lowest. A likely reason is that large health systems employ many of the doctors there and register them at a few shared sites, which produces fewer addresses. Use this table to size a state before you order it.

These are register counts, rounded. The list will hold fewer rows, because our checks remove closed and duplicate entries.

By specialty

Family medicine and internal medicine are the two largest specialties in the register, with pediatrics, emergency medicine and anesthesiology next. The counts below are individual physicians by the specialty they flagged as primary, not practices: a multispecialty clinic holds many specialties at one address. Emergency physicians, anesthesiologists and hospitalists mostly work inside hospitals, so they reach a practice list only through their group.

Where the data comes from

The list starts from the CMS National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES), the federal register of healthcare providers, file of 2026-09-14. We group MD and DO registrations by practice address, match each location to its own website or its group's location page, and record the emails and phone numbers published there, with the page URL. We check each email with the receiving mail server and leave out locations we can't confirm as current.

Questions about the physician list

Can I buy the physician list now?

Yes. Choose nationwide or up to 10 states in the order panel on this page. It costs $799 nationwide, and state files start from $59. Delivered within 24 hours, usually much sooner. Nationwide files are verified and sent within 48 hours.

How many doctors are in the US?

The AAMC counted 1,032,365 active physicians in 2024. NPPES holds more individual MD and DO registrations, because physicians keep their numbers after they retire. The doctor statistics page compares the licensed, active and employed counts and gives the register figures by state.

Does the list include hospital-employed physicians?

Rows will be practice locations, not people. A physician employed by a hospital or a medical group will appear through the site where they see patients, under that site's name, phone and published email. The list will have no column of physicians' names. The physicians_at_location column will give the number of physicians registered at the address without naming them.

Can I filter by specialty?

Yes. Every row will carry the specialties registered at the address, so you can keep cardiology or pediatric practices and drop the rest. Seven specialties also have separate lists: the cardiologist, oncologist, pediatrician, dermatologist, neurologist, urologist and radiologist email lists.

Is this a list of doctors' personal emails?

No. We will collect only emails a practice publishes on its own website, such as a front-desk or office inbox. Some will be named inboxes at the practice's domain, as the practice lists them. We never guess addresses from a name pattern, and we leave out free-mail accounts.

Can I send email to physician practices legally?

In the US, CAN-SPAM allows commercial email to businesses if you identify yourself, include a postal address and an opt-out, and honor opt-outs. This is general information, not legal advice. Read is buying an email list legal?
