What we hold, where it comes from and your rights.
Remove your data from nodilist
Email us and we will remove your practice, your name or both from our files. It is free, and we don't ask for ID. Requests go by email to info@nodilist.com. The removal applies to every file we build from then on. We also tell buyers who already received your record to delete it. A removal request also deletes any sample or signup request we hold for the same email address.
This page is also our "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link.
What nodilist has about you
nodilist sells directory files about US business offices, such as dental practices, to other businesses. Each row is one office, not a person. A row can contain:
- the office or organization name, business address and business phone;
- a business contact email that was published on a public web page or in an official register, with that page's address or the register's name and file date. Most are shared addresses such as office@, but some include a person's name;
- an official identifier such as an NPI number.
For a solo practice, the business name or NPI can be the practitioner's own.
It comes from government registers, such as the CMS NPPES provider file, and from the business's own website. We don't hold home addresses, dates of birth, financial or health information about you.
Request a removal
Include the details below so we can find your record.
To make a request, email us at info@nodilist.com with the details below.
What to include in your email
- What do you want us to do? Deleting also stops the sale of your data.
- Who is the request about? Choose the person, the business or both.
- Your full name Needed when the request is about you as a person.
- Business or practice name Needed when the request is about a business.
- Business email addresses One or more, separated by commas. We use them to find the record.
- Business phone numbers One or more, separated by commas.
- Business address Street, city, state and ZIP.
- NPI, CRD or USDOT number Optional. It helps us match the record.
- State where you live Optional. We use it only for state request counts.
- Your email for our reply We confirm here. It can differ from the listed emails.
- What should be corrected? Shown for correction requests.
- I am an authorized agent making this request for someone else We ask for the person's signed permission.
- Agent name Your name as the person's authorized agent.
- Signed permission PDF, JPG or PNG.
We use these details only to find and remove your record and to confirm the result.
Whichever way you write, give your name or business name, and at least one email, phone, address or NPI we can match.
What happens next
- Acknowledgment. You get a reply with a reference number when we receive your email.
- Matching. We search every niche file for records that match the details you gave: emails, phones, address and ID numbers.
- Removal. Matched records are deleted from our current data and added to our suppression list. The suppression list is applied to every new release and every order, so the record stays out even when it reappears in a government file or on a website.
- Buyers told. If a buyer has already received your record, we email them its details. Our terms require them to delete it within 10 business days.
- Confirmation. We email you what we removed within 45 days. For an opt-out of sale only, we act within 15 business days.
If we find no match, we tell you. We still add the details you gave to the suppression list, so if your record appears later it is blocked before it reaches a file.
How we verify requests
- Opt-out of sale: no verification. We act on the details you give us.
- Deletion: we match your request to our records. If the match is uncertain, we may email an address that appears in our record and ask you to click a link.
- Request to know or correct: we need a reply from an email address or phone number in our record, because we are sending personal data back.
- Authorized agents need a signed permission from the person. We may confirm the request directly with that person.
We never ask for a Social Security number, a driver's license or a photo ID to remove data.
What we keep after a removal
Only a scrambled (hashed) version of the identifiers you gave: email, phone, NPI and name with address. It lets us recognize the record and keep it out of future files. We can't use it to contact you or rebuild your record. We also keep a log of the request (date, type, outcome), because California law requires us to report request numbers each year.
What a removal does not cover
- The source. We can't change government registers or your website. For example, NPPES data is published by CMS, and nodilist doesn't control it. To change your NPPES record, update it through CMS.
- Other companies. Each data broker has its own list. Removing your data from nodilist doesn't remove it from other brokers.
- Buyers' own lists. We notify buyers who received your record. If a company keeps contacting you, use the unsubscribe link in its emails. By law it must act on that within 10 business days.
California residents: DROP
California's Delete Request and Opt-out Platform (DROP), run by the California Privacy Protection Agency, lets you send one deletion request to every registered data broker at once. It is free at privacy.ca.gov/drop.
Opting out of data brokers in general
To reduce what data brokers hold about you:
- California residents: use DROP (above). It covers every broker registered in California.
- Everyone: the state registries in California, Texas, Oregon and Vermont list the data brokers registered there, with their contact details. Most brokers have their own opt-out process.
- For business email, use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email. US law (CAN-SPAM) requires senders to honor it within 10 business days.
- For calls, register personal and mobile numbers at donotcall.gov.
Questions
Is removal free?
Yes. There is no fee and no account.
Will my practice disappear from nodilist completely?
Yes, if you ask us to remove the business. If you only ask us to remove your name or a personal email address, the office row can stay without it.
Can I be removed from one list but not others?
No. A removal applies to every nodilist file.
I'm not in California. Will you still remove me?
Yes. We honor removal requests from anyone, whatever state you live in.
